Her glowing skin and svelte figure has millions of girls aspiring to be in her shoes. But Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor says it is her ‘vegetarian’ diet that keeps her fit and glowing.

“Apart from doing yoga to keep myself fit, I am a pure vegetarian. I don’t eat meat and that has helped me a lot to keep fit,” Kareena told reporters in New Delhi.

“I am proud to be a vegetarian and I am against those who eat meat. Go green to be fit, that’s the best way for me at least,” she added.

Kareena had given up non-vegetarian food in 2006, that is two years after she started dating actor and former beau Shahid Kapur, a strict vegetarian himself.

But even after her break-up with Shahid, the actress has continued to follow a vegetarian diet to keep her weight in check.

In fact, in 2007, Kareena had also won the ‘Cutest Vegetarian’ online poll conducted by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India’s youth division ‘PETA Dishoom’. She shared the title with actor R. Madhavan.

Apart from eating vegetarian food for her figure and fitness, Kareena’s water intake is high to keep her skin radiant.

“I drink a lot of water for my skin. And yes, my mom is beautiful, so it is also my parents who have gifted me with beautiful skin,” she said.

Golmaal 3 Team Celebrates Film's Completion, Kareena Kapoor Skips Bash 2010

June 23, 2010, (Sawf News) - Golmaal 3 completed filming on June 23 in Hyderabad, and the cast and crew celebrated with a private screening of the action comedy A-Team, followed by dinner.

Busy Kareena Kapoor could not make it to the break-up bash as she was shooting for a brand endorsement.

The rest of the cast - Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu watched the film at Ramoji studios at and later gorged on Hyderabadi Briyani during dinner.

Arshad Warsi raved about the Hyderabadi biryani in his tweets through the entire filming in Hyderabad.

Also present on the occasion were writers Sajid and Farhad, cameraman Dudley and art director Narendra Rahurikar.

Golmaal 3 is slated for Diwali release on November 5, 2010.

Filming started in April 2010 in Goa.

Early life
Kareena attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and then went to Welham Girls Boarding School in Dehradun. Set on pursuing an acting career, she then took an admission in Government Law College at Churchgate to become a lawyer. Breakthrough

Size zero is out for actress Kareena Kapoor. In her next release, “Kambakht Ishq”, she plays a surgeon who moonlights as a supermodel and for it she has put on extra pounds.

“I weigh 54 kg now, which for a girl of my height is quite fine. People used to wonder what ‘size zero’ is and I’d joke, ‘Just look at me’. I don’t want that any more. I want to look like a normal healthy girl. My forthcoming releases required me to get back to a fuller shape,” said Kareena, who sported size zero in “Tashan” and “Golmaal Returns”.

“In ‘Kambakht Ishq’, my character flies to Italy to become a supermodel to support herself financially. I didn’t want to play the character looking like an international model because she’s basically in another profession. So she can’t really have the figure of Victoria Beckham, can she? I had to look more filled up,” she told IANS.

In “Mr & Mrs Khanna” too, Kareena is sporting the same look.

“Again, for my next release ‘Mr & Mrs Khanna’ with Salman Khan, I play a wife. So I wanted to look more filled up. Not that wives can’t be curvaceous. The one I played in ‘Golmaal Returns’ certainly was,” she said.

Golmaal Returns a New planned move for Kareena

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor says she signed “Golmaal Returns” to have some fun and plays a “loud, colourful” woman, a role she hasn’t done before.

“‘Golmaal Returns’ was a planned move in my career. I’ve done films with an ensemble cast before like ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘Omkara’. But none that was so much fun,” Kareena told IANS.

Kareena’s role in the film is highly influenced by television tsarina Ekta Kapoor‘s soaps.

“I play Tusshar’s (Kapoor) sister and my name is Ekta and I only watch Balaji (Telefilms) serials the whole day. I play this suspicious housewife who keeps tabs on her husband’s movements all day long just because she sees women in soaps behaving that way,” the actress explained.

She added: “It’s a loud, colourful role. I’ve never done it before. Audiences are going to come out of ‘Golmaal Returns’ feeling very happy. I don’t want to restrict myself to serious cinema. I’d also like to do fun roles.”

But her role of the suspicious and jealous housewife addicted to Saas-Bahu serials turned out to be the one with the maximum glam quotient.

After the promotional theme track with the entire cast, Kareena shot a whole item number “Saala tu to kaam se gaya” by herself.

She later shot another item song “Meeow”. Initially this number was planned only for the promotional campaign, but now it may be used in the end titles.

Said music director Pritam: “What you’ve heard is right… Both the item songs with Kareena were planned from the outset. The ‘Meeow’ number was meant to go with the end titles.”

He added: “Composing songs for Kareena to perform on screen is a big high for any composer. The turning point in my career were the songs for Kareena in ‘Jab We Met’. I composed one item number for Kareena recently in ‘Billoo Barber’ and now two in ‘Golmaal Returns’.”

New Delhi, March 19 – Kareena Kapoor has become the highest taxpayer among all actresses in Bollywood, a source said Friday.

While what she paid has not been disclosed, it has been said that the 29-year-old coughed up a staggering amount to the income tax department.

‘Kareena is a style icon and powerhouse performer. She is distinctive and has a loyal base fan which only seems to be growing. Her increasing body of work as a star and popularity with brands reflects in the taxes she’s paid for 2009-10,’ said a source.
